Math Tutoring & Test Preparation Tailored for You

Tutoring Policies

All students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) utilizing the services of Problem-Solving Math, LLC agree to abide by these policies and agree to pay any and all fees incurred by violating these policies.

Payment

All tutoring fees as set forth by the tutor are to be paid prior to the scheduled session. Payment may be made weekly/monthly in advance or may be made immediately before the scheduled session. Full payment is required prior to the session and is accepted via online payment by ACH, credit card, or debit card, cash, and by check made out to “Problem-Solving Math.” Invoices and payment receipts are sent via email with paper copies available upon request. Providing payment by ACH, credit card, debit card, or PayPal direct pay authorizes Problem-Solving Math, LLC to receive payment by the method provided. If Problem-Solving Math, LLC does not receive full payment from the account holder, the student is responsible for paying all amounts due upon demand. For payments made by check, a $35 nonrefundable fee applies for all returned checks. All test preparation packages must be paid for in advance and are NOT prorated by session nor will a missed session by the student be refunded. All tutoring fees are nonrefundable unless agreed to by the tutor.

Cancellation by Student

The student must cancel their scheduled tutoring session by providing at least 24 hours prior notice to the tutor by phone call, message or email with receipt of the cancellation notification confirmed by the tutor. The prepaid session will be rescheduled either as an additional session at the end of the paid, scheduled sessions or as a make-up session at a time agreed upon by the student and tutor. The tutor will make every effort to accommodate make-up sessions, but a make-up session in the same week or test cycle may not be feasible. There is no guarantee a session can be made-up prior to a scheduled exam, assignment, or application due date. Limited flexibility at the tutor’s discretion applies to rescheduling missed sessions during the national pandemic. Please DO NOT attend your session if you are experiencing illness symptoms or have an asymptomatic fever.

Any student who does not arrive within fifteen (15) minutes of any scheduled session without providing at least a 24-hour notice of cancellation by phone, message, or email of the cancellation notification confirmed by the tutor will be responsible for paying the full rate of a private individual session without any provided, advertised, or previously offered discount(s). If any individual or group session discounts are provided in advance and the student does not show within fifteen (15) minutes for an individual or group scheduled session, the student will be responsible for paying the full, non-discounted private session rate for the missed session. If payment for the missed session was provided in advance, an additional invoice for the difference between the prepaid, discounted individual or group session rate and the full private session rate will be issued with immediate payment required.

Cancellation by Tutor

The tutor may cancel sessions by giving prior notice to the student in which no fees will be incurred. If the session was prepaid, the tutor will reschedule the session at a mutually agreed upon time, either as a make-up session or as an additional session at the end of the paid, scheduled sessions. There is no guarantee a session can be made-up prior to a scheduled exam, assignment, or application due date.

Late Arrival

Students with scheduled tutoring appointments have fifteen (15) minutes to arrive for their intended appointment. Tutoring will last for the remainder of the scheduled session, and additional time will not be added due to the student’s tardiness. No monetary adjustment or prorating of the session cost will be made for time lost because of late arrival by the student.

No-Show

Any student who does not arrive within fifteen (15) minutes of the scheduled appointment start time will be considered a “No-Show.” The tutor is not obligated to meet with any student who arrives more than fifteen (15) minutes late for the session. Any student who does not arrive within fifteen (15) minutes of any scheduled session without providing at least a 24-hour notice of cancellation by phone, message, or email of the cancellation notification confirmed by the tutor will be responsible for paying the full rate of a private individual session without any provided, advertised, or previously offered discount(s). Three no-show sessions forfeits the student’s spot, and sessions will not be refunded. If any individual or group session discounts are provided in advance and the student does not show within fifteen (15) minutes for an individual or group scheduled session, the student will be responsible for paying the full, non-discounted private session rate for the missed session. If payment for the missed session was provided in advance, an additional invoice for the difference between the prepaid, discounted individual or group session rate and the full private session rate will be issued with immediate payment required.

Guarantees

While Problem-Solving Math, LLC strives to provide the best educational services possible, no promises or guarantees related to any student’s performance as a result of any tutoring service(s) provided are made.
